Since I seem to be gaining Twitter followers faster than I can tweet, I thought I would tell you my philosophy for the various online social networking sites. This may help you decide if and how you want to hear from me.
LinkedIn is for professional contacts I remember or know. I have a few family or college friends on there but generally I leave this for professional work stuff. This is a low-traffic site for me. I don’t actively use this site.
Twitter is for my hobbies, interests, friends, and everything else. If you don’t know me, following me on twitter is the best way to get to know me. I do not auto-follow back. It can take me a few days to get in front of a computer where I can look at your profile and web site.
I’m not terribly picky about whom I follow right now but that may change. That said, I do have some preferences. I’m happy with my social, political, financial, religious, and internet marketing choices. If you are pushing any of these, chances are I won’t follow back. If you are a basically unhappy person ranting about this or that 24/7, I won’t follow you, ever. Not online, not down the street, not down the rabbit hole.
If you know me from school, work, kid stuff, around town, or some other direct connection, please contact me on facebook. I’m only friends with people I know or remember so I’m selective with the facebook friends stuff. I generally don’t do facebook applications, games, quizzes, because I just don’t have the time.
